On September 8 my little Kayleb turned 5 years old! I know I can hardly believe it myself. I can't believe it has been that long and both he and I have survived! If he wasn't so darn cute, I don't know if I would be able to say that right now.
Over Labor Day weekend we had a big family party because there are so many of us in our family that have birthdays at the end of August into September. Nick finally came home that weekend - the first time he has been home since June. My mom, dad, brother Matt his wife Carin and their two little girls came down for the par-tay. Now of course my camera's battery was dead during the big party so I may have to post some pictures later. Um Carin, will you e-mail me some pics? Thanks...
So on his actual birthday it wasn't nearly as exciting but it was still fun. When he got up that morning he told us we had to refer to him as "birthday boy" all day. We actually were still in Vegas for part of that day - long story - so I took the kids to a movie. Star Wars the Clone Wars is what the birthday boy chose - I chose to take a nap during the movie, so did Mia. Then I let him choose where he wanted to go for lunch - McDonald's of course.
After that we drove home and went swimming that night and had his birthday cake. He opted for one that the grocery store made rather than me making one, which is A-OK with me. I had to remember to get him a "5" candle this year because last year they were out of them so I just used 4 candles and he didn't believe he was 4 for like 6 months.
Oh and when he blew out his candles and made a wish, he wished he had "super powers". How cute is that???

Cute kid. Super powers would be pretty awesome, wouldn't they? I'll email those pics. I really meant to, but lately morning sickenss has taken over my life. I'm glad we were able to do their birthdays together again. You guys moving to Vegas may make it hard to do in the coming years!
