Zoo Time

We spent the weekend at my parent's for Mother's Day and my mom and I decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was the first time Mia really got into it, now that she knows all her animals she recognizes them and gets so excited to see them. We saw everything except the reptile house, we started walking in and the smell was making me dry heave so we had to leave.

Mia LOVES elephants so it was cool to be able to see how they feed them and take care of them, this elephant was actually pregnant. They are pregnant for 22 - 24 months. This made me realize that I would never want to be an elephant. You are now probably asking yourself "Did she used to WANT to be an elephant or something?" The answer to that is: YES. I think it would be so cool to be bigger than everything else and be able to eat with a big long nose that's like a hand - it's fascinating. Or a whale, those are the two animals I would like to be - if I had to be an animal that is...any way. I could go on all day.

Obviously enthused by the zebras...

My mom was wearing a black and white striped sweater. Right now I imagine the zebras are wondering how she got out and they are still fenced in...

The kids also rode the carousel which they loved and wanted to ride over and over again. Either the carousel is new or we never walked that direction before because we had never seen it.

And last but not least we saw two giraffes trying to "play leap frog" as Kayleb so accurately observed. Good times at the Hogle Zoo!

Malia, you are so funny or as Avery likes to say to me, "You are so silly"! Thanks for the laugh! We went to the zoo the first part of April and no carousel did we see. Where does it hide?

I am excited for you guys to finally be moving on and all together. And yes, you should take the summer off, sit at the pool, and read People magazine, because you deserve it. Until it gets too hot and you would rather be in an air-conditioned place. :) And your dad can bbsit anytime if he can get my kids to sleep!
