Hallelujah!!!!

So we have some good news to report! Most of you know that Nick has been in the process of applying to be a Paramedic Firefighter in Las Vegas. Like with all county jobs the process seems never ending. He started applying about a year and a half ago and has been in the process every since. He would take a test, then have to wait 2 months to get a letter saying he passed, then he'd have to take another test and wait another 2 or 3 months, it was pretty frustrating having to wait and having no idea what was going on. Well we don't have to wait any longer. This weekend he got "The Call"; they called and told him that they would like him to begin the Academy on June 30th!! Hallelujah, our prayers have finally been answered.

Nick has been wanting to get out of Utah since the day he moved here and I've always wanted to live in a big city. It will mean such a better life for our family. It is bitter sweet though. I've lived in Utah my whole life and Cedar City is the place where we began our relationship, then marriage and of course our two perfect children were born here. We bought our first house here, bought our first cars together here and have made great friends. It's going to be really sad leaving my job and changing the kids' day care. They love their friends and have learned so much.

I'm coming to terms that change is a way of life and we need to embrace change and not be scared of it. Me and the kids will be staying in Cedar until Nick is done with the academy. That will mean lots of weekend trips to Vegas for 4 months (I've been told I need to correct this to 5 months) but it will be better for everyone. We still need to try and sell our house and find one in Vegas, and I need to find/train someone to take over my position at work. That is wayyy too much for me to do in a month's time.

I just wanted to share our great news with all of our friends and family who read this, and remember you all have a place to stay if you want a trip to Sin City!!

Well, why everyone else is excited for you...I'm not all that thrilled. Not that we see each other a ton but enough to feel like not all my college friends are gone far away. No really if your excited then I'm excited and for sure we'll have to plan a weekend in Vegas. By the way summer games are on Thursday! Are you going?
